On May 12, Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative hosted ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA: "Let's talk with Kanazawa University Alumni! ~There is more than one career path! The power of Accumulating and Expanding~," as part of Project: AERU. It was held at the Kakuma Campus and 13 students, faculty and staff of Kanazawa University attended.
ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA is a program that creates opportunities for casual chats between students, faculty and staff, and people in the community. By freely discussing with each other without being restricted by occupation, industry, or position, we hope to help students to develop their careers and generate ideas for faculty, staff, and participating companies.
The guests for this event were Hiroyuki Kato from Eisai Co., Ltd. and Hitoshi Kawamura from Heartseed Inc., both are Kanazawa University alumni. At the beginning of the event, they introduced themselves describing their careers and experiences. Despite their different fields and backgrounds, thery talked about a number of commonalities, including their experience working overseas, their continued working on pharmaceutical development, and there were people who look at them and trust them.
During the chat session that followed, participants asked questions one after another about higher education and careers, and a lively exchange of opinions took place.
The students who participated in the seminar commented: "I was impressed by the words that a career is not something you can build by yourself alone, it is important to find someone who will look out for you and pull you forward," and "It was a very valuable opportunity for me to talk directly with seniors in the industries I am interested in and to have individual consultations with them after the meeting." It was a meaningful time with much learning and insight for the participants.
